From organ to piano
We set off towards Heuvelland, where our first stop is for a delicious lunch. Then we go across the ‘Schreve’ (the border) to find a hidden ‘organ farm’, where an organ-builder has turned his hobby into a profession. We enjoy as much music as we want as we listen to the extensive and rare collection of Belgian organs made by the pre-war organ-builders Verbeeck and Decap.
Afterwards, we get back aboard the coach and head for Ruiselede and a piano workshop. Here we are given a guided tour of the workshops and show room. A concert is then given in the auditorium fortepianos and historic grand pianos from Steinway and Sons.
We conclude this musical day with a bite to eat and a drink.
